So last post I mentioned I have been making Anleigh's babyfood. I did this with most of Luke's(first child!) and a little with the others. It really isn't difficult, just takes some time to do it. I have used this website for all my info. It saves a good bit of money. For example, I bought four small sweet tators for a little over $1.00. I baked them, peeled them, put them in the blender with some purified water until they were babyfoodish consistency.
Next, I put them in clean ice cube trays. Each cube equals about 1 oz. A small jar of storebought is 2.5 oz. and cost about 55 cent each. I was able to fill 2 trays for around $1.00 worth of sweet tators!
I also bought these very small reusable plastic containers for storing fresh food or you can also freeze in these. When she gets older and needs to eat when we're out I just put a few cubes in one of these and it's usually thawed by the time shes ready to eat.
I forgot to mention that once the cubes have frozen in the tray, I pop them out and put them in a freezer bag and label them.
Don't think I'm some kooky, "green", save the earth weirdo! Mostly I do this because it saves money. But it's nice knowing whats's exactly going in my baby too!
Moving on, the kids were very quiet yesterday afternoon.........too quiet............
They found SK's play makeup(which I put away months ago, because I decided she was too young for it after she decorated the house with it!) Luke was more excited about it than she was.
(have i ever mentioned how often I type this blog with one hand because I'm holding a baby with the other. hehe! like right now!)
